Q: Do you offer weekday rides?

YES We do offer weekday rides at! We are open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays too.

Q: Do we ride your horses or do we have to bring our own horses?

 We supply the horses for all trail rides. For insurance and safety purposes, we do not allow personal horses to come along or be used for our guided trail rides. 

Q: Do you allow double riding?

NO For insurance and safety purposes, we do not allow any double riding of any kind.

Q: I have never ridden before, can I go on a trail ride?

Yes!  Our horses are well accustomed to beginner riders, and we host guests every day who have never been horseback riding.  We will talk you through sitting correctly on your horse, controlling your horse on the trail, and other safety information to ensure you enjoy your trail ride.  Our wranglers are also always there to assist you while on the ride or offer riding advice and answer questions.

Q: Can I ride if I am pregnant?

No. We do not allow expecting mothers to ride.  There is always some level of risk involved when riding a horse and we do not want to be party to any kind of tragedy.  We reserve the right to decline service to expecting mothers for this reason.

Q: Should I tip my guides/wranglers?

It is customary for guests to provide gratuity to their guides/wranglers. On average, this is 20% of the total cost of your ride. If a guide/wrangler went out of their way or worked extra hard to provide good service, such as spending extra time with guests who required an additional measure of reassurance or just doing something unexpected that made your ride even more special, a tip is how you can let them know you appreciate their hard work.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

 We have a strict 48-hour cancellation policy. Should you need to cancel your ride or change the number of guests in your group, please call or message us at least 48 hrs prior to your scheduled ride time. This allows us the opportunity to try to fill your space(s) with other guests wanting to ride. We require a 50% deposit upfront for groups of 4 or more that becomes non-refundable in the event of no-shows or cancellations within 48hrs. We do understand that tragedies and emergencies happen, so we reserve the right to decide on deposit refunds on a case-by-case basis.

Q: Why is your cancellation policy so strict?

Traveling to our staging area, saddling and preparing the horses for you to ride, and paying and scheduling our staff requires a great deal of time and effort. When you do not show up to your scheduled ride time or show up with fewer guests than we were expecting, we lose money and someone else loses the opportunity to go on a trail ride. We often have full rides and have to turn away other guests who would have loved to be able to ride in your place. Please be courteous and respectful and just communicate with us should you have the need to cancel or reschedule your reservations.

Q: Do you have an age limit?

 Due to insurance restrictions, we can only accommodate riders who are age 6 or older. For safety purposes we limit our group size for under age 14. Please call for more information on accommodating large groups of children ages 18 and under.

Q: Do you have a weight limit

Yes. We ask for height, weight, and age so we can pair you with the proper horse. 

Q: Can my child wear a bike helmet on the trail ride?

Sorry, but we only allow ASTM/SEI-approved equestrian riding helmets that are made especially for riding horses. If you or your child has his/her own riding helmet that fits properly, they are welcome to bring it and use it for their ride.

Q: Do you offer riding lessons?

Not at this time. If you are interested in taking riding lessons, we can guide you in a safe direction.

Q: Do you rent or lease your horses for people to personally use at their own riding location or for extended periods of time?

CCO does not rent or lease any of our horses. This is due in part to the fact that our horses are in use either for guided trail rides or our own personal use throughout the year. We can give you some resources to help with this issue.

Q: Can I take photographs while on my trail ride?

Yes! We would love for you to take photos on your ride via your phone or small digital camera. We don’t recommend that you bring a large DSLR camera as it can be too difficult to manage while also trying to enjoy your ride and control your horse. Please feel free to post your photos on our Facebook page and tag us. We look forward to seeing your images and sharing them on our social media outlets!

Q: Can I choose which horse I am going to ride?

We will choose which of our wonderful horses we think would be best for you to ride based on your riding experience level, height, weight, and the experience levels of other riders we must accommodate. We will try, when possible, to pair you with the horse of your choice, however, the decision is ultimately up to us and what we think is best for all the riders in your group.
